As the UK enjoys some of the sunniest and driest weather in decades, there’s never been a better time for independent retailers to stock up on the nation's favourite warm-weather treat, ice cream!
April 2025 was provisionally the sunniest on record since 1910, delivering 47% more sunshine than the long-term average. This trend is set to continue into May and June, with forecasts pointing to persistent dry and bright conditions across much of the country. With daytime highs expected to range between 18°C and 21°C, this is classic ice cream weather. Combine that with the upcoming May Bank Holiday on the 26th, a day when the public will be out in force enjoying their time off, and the opportunity for increased ice cream sales becomes clear.
Ice cream sales historically spike by 162% in May, driven by seasonal demand, warmer temperatures, and longer days. Independent shops and convenience stores are perfectly positioned to capture this surge in demand by being well-stocked and ready to meet the appetite for frozen favourites. That’s where Eden Farm Hulleys steps in, providing exclusive Wall’s promotions to help retailers grow their sales and delight their customers!
Take advantage of two unbeatable offers from Wall’s this month:
Buy any 6 Wall’s ice creams and receive any case of Magnum FREE .
Buy any 10 Wall’s ice creams and get 2 free cases of Cornetto Strawberry
ANY case of Magnum FREE
This is a critical time for independent retailers. With increased footfall, seasonal outings, and favourable weather, having a strong ice cream offering will not only boost immediate sales but also encourage repeat visits throughout the summer. Trusted brands like Magnum and Cornetto are reliable drivers of impulse purchases and are often top of mind when the sun is shining.
Despite the name, Eden Farm Hulleys is not a farm! We are one of the UK’s leading frozen food wholesalers, with over 60 years of experience supplying chilled and frozen products to retailers nationwide.
What sets us apart:
We make it easy to keep your freezers stocked and your customers happy, with dependable supply, reliable margins, and a product range that meets local demand.
To maximise this opportunity, retailers should act now. Placing an order while Wall’s May Deals are still available will ensure stock is on hand ahead of the Bank Holiday and peak weather days. In-store visibility is key, so make sure freezers are well-stocked, positioned near high-traffic areas, and clearly labelled. Social media and local promotions can help drive awareness, while maintaining reliable stock levels will keep customers coming back.
